Founded by New York based pianist Kimball Gallagher to revive salon culture around the world, 88 International has spanned 28 and has developed a range of musical humanitarian works in countries such as Taiwan, India, Tunisia, Egypt and Afghanistan. In June 2014, 88 International launched the first International Myanmar Music Festival, featuring international artists with strong humanitarian profiles. Through a variety of musical activities, they have since worked to strengthen and enrich the musical and cultural life in Myanmar, gaining the support of the Ministry of Culture, the United Nations and awarded with the appreciation of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi.
