YU-WEN WANG
Yu-Wen Wang, a native of Taiwan, received her Bachelor Degree from Curtis Institute of Music in 2009. Her long-time mentors include Peter Wiley, Orlando Cole, and Carter Brey. She has appeared as a soloist with Temple University Youth Chamber Orchestra and Taipei Civic Symphony Orchestra. Yu-Wen is an active chamber musician. She has worked with musicians such as Pam Frank, Ida Kavafian, Toby Appel, Hsin-Yun Huang, Roberto Díaz, Andrés Díaz, and Ronald Thomas in numerous chamber music festivals, including Music@Menlo, Music at Angel Fire, Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, Caramoor Rising Stars Program, and Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival; she is also an artist on the roster of New Asia Chamber Music Society. As a student in 2008, Yu-Wen participated as a member of the Curtis on Tour chamber ensemble and performed alongside other Curtis students and President Roberto Díaz in Pennsylvania, Maine, Florida, and California. Few years later, she was invited back as alum to perform with the Curtis on Tour again. Aside from being a chamber musician, Yu-Wen has also spent much time in orchestral playing. She has played in Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra for many years. |
